Major CPGs Run Sweepstakes at Asda

British supermarket operator Asda is hosting a trio of account-specific sweepstakes with top CPGs. Shoppers who buy a “Pizza Night In Meal Deal,” which includes two medium store brand pizzas and a Coca-Cola Co. drink for 6 pounds, can upload a copy of their receipt through AsdaWinCokeMusic.com from July 24 to Oct. 10 to enter a sweepstakes awarding 60 Ticketmaster egift cards worth 60 pounds each. The promotion is an overlay to a national instant-win game and sweepstakes Coca-Cola is running from May 29 through Aug. 21. Consumers earn entries by playing games within the Coca-Cola app. The promotion awards hundreds of prizes including Ticketmaster gift cards worth 250 pounds, tickets to music festivals, and merchandise such as bucket hats and phone cases. AB InBev’s Budweiser is activating its sponsorship of England’s women’s soccer team with promotional packs containing QR codes that shoppers can scan to enter a sweeps running from June 1 through Aug. 31. The promotion awards 10 winners with a PerfectDraft Pro keg machine and 31 with a 40-inch LG TV. A concurrent instant-win game awards 1,000 Budweiser coupons worth 5 pounds each. Budweiser ran different versions of the promotion at other U.K. retailers. Co-op shoppers could scan the QR code from June 26 through July 25 to enter to win one of three prize packages, including a Weber Genesis II barbecue and Budweiser merchandise such as a table and ice bucket. At Morrisons, shoppers could enter from July 10 to Aug. 12 to win one of 340 store gift cards worth 90 pounds each. Furthermore, Asda shoppers who buy a limited-edition Minions SKU from Premier Foods’ Ambrosia, Angel Delight or Mr Kipling Cakes from Aug. 3 through Sept. 13 can enter a sweeps through Asda’s website for the chance to win a family trip to Universal Studios Florida. The promotion is an overlay to Premier Foods’ national promotion with Universal Products & Experiences, which consumers can enter via text from July 5 through Oct. 11. The sweeps awards 125 prizes each week including movie tickets, DVDs of Universal Pictures’ "Minions" and "Despicable Me," and Minions merchandise such as mugs, posters and T-shirts. Surrey, England-based Active House administers the promotion. Display ads throughout Asda’s website promote the three sweeps.
