Great news, everyone: The “Retail Apocalypse” might not be happening after all. I don’t have a lot of information on which to base this bold declaration, just a headline I found in August suggesting that the industry might be experiencing a “Retail Renaissance.”
Just a little over a year old, location-based app SkoutDeals, Austin, TX, is helping retailers drive shoppers to its physical stores to buy items and save at a minimum 25% off on a product, per the rules of the app.
Amazon and Sears Holdings have reached a deal for the former to begin selling the latter's Kenmore appliance lines, marking the broadest distribution of the iconic brand outside of Sears.
