ShopRite Locks In Easter Deals

ShopRite activated its ongoing Locked-In Savings program as part of promotions leading up to Easter on April 16.From March 24 through April 15, the Northeastern grocer offered extended-duration deals on select dinner items. The "locked-in" deals spanned store-brand products as well as SKUs from Campbell Soup Co.'s Pepperidge Farm and Swanson, King Arthur Flour Co., Musco Family Olive's Pearls, and the flagships of Dole Food Co. and McCormick & Co. Price labels and multiple features in March and April circulars supported. ShopRite also promised Price Plus Club loyalty cardholders a free Easter entree with a $400 single or cumulative purchase from March 5 to April 15. A shank half, butt half or spiral sliced from Smithfield Foods’ Cook’s, a 5-pound canned ham from Conagra Brands' Hormel Black Label, a lasagna from Nestle’s Stouffer's, a vegetarian turkey from Tofurky, a turkey breast from Cargill Meat Solutions' Shady Brook Farms, or a store brand turkey or turkey breast was automatically deducted at checkout once the purchase threshold was met. Multiple email blasts and features in March and April circulars supported. National floorstands from Lindt & Sprungli and Hershey Co.'s Reese's, shelf trays from Ferrero's Ferrero Rocher and pallets stocking Ferrara Candy Co.'s Brach's jelly beans and Signature Brands' PAAS egg-dying kits rounded out the seasonal theme in stores.ShopRite typically activates its Locked-In Savings program and dangles a free ham or turkey (see Related Updates below) leading up to holidays such as Easter and Thanksgiving. Most recently, the retailer ran a flight of the Locked-In Savings program to tie in to March's designation as "Frozen Food Month" by the National Frozen and Refrigerated Foods Association. The promotion was valid March 5 through April 1 and included deals on frozen products from Nestle’s Haagen-Dazs and Hot Pockets, Unilever's Good Humor and Klondike, Kraft Heinz Co.'s Bagel Bites, Conagra Brands' Marie Callender's, Pinnacle Foods' Celeste and Birds Eye, and ShopRite's private label. A half-page feature in the retailer's March 24 circular touted the promotion while ceiling signs in stores indirectly supported by spotlighting deals on participating products.
