Ace Hardware is shining a spotlight on Stanley Black & Decker’s Craftsman lawn mowers this spring through two sweepstakes.
A local sweepstakes awarding one winner from each participating store a Craftsman push lawn mower runs from April 1-30. Shoppers fill out registration forms at a supporting floorstand display positioned near the store entrance. A total of 1,221 of the retailer's 5,000-some stores are participating. A feature in the retailer’s April 5 circular and posts on regional Facebook accounts supported.
Ace also ran a digital version of the sweeps awarding one winner with a limited-edition Craftsman riding mower. Consumers could enter daily via a promotional website from April 1-17. Facebook posts from Ace Hardware and Craftsman supported, employing a “spring is here” message and directing users to the promotional site. Vancouver, WA-based Woobox administered.
Last year, the hardware chain partnered with Craftsman on a similar sweeps for the observance of Father's Day. Craftsman was then owned by Sears Holdings, which last month sold the brand for $900 million to Stanley Black & Decker.
In other Craftsman activity, the brand’s tools and lawn mowers received a front-page feature in Ace's April 5 circular as well as a carousel ad on acehardware.com. Employing an “April Craftsman Days” message, the carousel ad directed shoppers to an e-commerce page listing six SKUs from the brand including a belt sander and pressure washer. The feature used an “outdoor power sale” theme to offer $20 in savings for Ace Rewards loyalty cardholders on Craftsman products including a lawn mower, chainsaw and leaf blower.
